Stockport band Blossoms revealed on The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X that comedy icon Peter Kay used their new studio to record parts of his tour. The hit comedian is currently on tour with shows coming up at the AO Arena in Manchester.

Speaking on the radio show this morning (Friday, November 3), Blossoms bandmates, Tom Ogden and Joe Donovan revealed Peter had been recording the 'singing bits' of his tour in their new 'rehearsal room' that is also being used as a recording studio. Tom said: "We’ve got a unit where we’ve got a rehearsal room…we started off at the scaffolding yard…and then we acquired too much equipment, outgrew that, then we rented a few places in Stockport and then outgrew them, and then we were at a point where we're like, let's just get a big place to store all of them.

"We want to build a proper studio in quotation marks but the rehearsal room can double up as a studio." And when Chris asked if other people use it and whether they could reveal any names, Joe said: "Yeah, a lot of people have used it. Peter Kay’s been in there." Tom added: Obviously he's on tour... I haven't been to see him yet, this isn’t giving anything away but he does singing bits, so he had to record some singing bits but I think he wanted to go somewhere where people wouldn’t be like, ‘Peter Kay’s there’.

Jokingly asked by Chris if they charge Peter for using the studio, Joe replied [laughing]: "It was free, no tickets have been offered or anything like that so long as we ask, we’ll be fine…but he’s doing like a million nights so I’m sure we’ll be able to go. [laughing]."

Fans were recently left emotional during Peter Kay's opening night of his Manchester residency (in September) after a touching gesture. The hit comedian pledged that a portion of the ticket sales would be donated to a charity in memory of a beloved daughter and campaigner who died from cancer.
