A young man has died in Bolton this afternoon (November 21) after an HGV and motorbike collided.

Police were called to Tonge Moor Road at 12.20pm on Tuesday following the crash. Emergency services rushed to the incident, with the North West Ambulance Service sending ‘an ambulance, response car, and an operational commander’. Multiple police vehicles were also dispatched.

However, this evening, police have sadly confirmed a 24-year-old man was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Now, officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A heavy police presence could be seen in the area well into the evening, with heavy traffic on surrounding roads also reported. The Little Wanderers children's shoe shop also closed early for the afternoon, as it was inside the cordoned off area, so customers could not reach it.

GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage, including dashcam, mobile phone footage from the area in the moments leading up to the collision.
