Chelsea left-back Ian Maatsen would be 'very keen' on the prospect of sealing a move to Manchester City.

That is according to a report by Football Insider, which claims the youngster, who is a Netherlands Under-21 international, is in pursuit of more regular first-team football. He has made just nine appearances in all competitions for Chelsea so far this season, failing to earn a single Premier League start.

After excelling on loan at Burnley last season, helping them clinch the Championship title in style, Maatsen returned to Stamford Bridge with the ambition of becoming a regular fixture in Mauricio Pochettino's plans. However, he has struggled to nail down a place in the Argentine's immediate thinking.

Maatsen, as a result, has been linked with a move to City in recent weeks. Pep Guardiola is light on options at left-back, often deploying either Nathan Ake or Josko Gvardiol, though they can fill the role, as makeshift left-backs.

Maatsen, according to Football Insider sources, would be interested in joining City, who are often on the hunt for fresh talent. The attack-minded left-back made 42 appearances in all competitions for Burnley last season, scoring four goals and chipping in with six assists.

Unsurprisingly, Burnley attempted to re-sign him on a permanent basis during the summer but Maatsen, according to reports, wanted to stay at Stamford Bridge and fight for his place. The 21-year-old has made a total of just 10 first-team appearances for the Londoners.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are said to have a 'Galactico' budget available to fund moves for both Kylian Mbappe and City striker Erling Haaland next summer. That is according to a report by Spanish publication AS, which claims the Spanish giants are lining up monster moves for the aforementioned duo.

Out-of-contract at Paris Saint-Germain next summer, Madrid have been installed as the favourites to sign Mbappe on a free transfer. They have been consistently linked with him in recent years and it does feel as though it is only a matter of time before they lay their hands on him.

Though Mbappe will be available on a free transfer next summer, his wages are likely to command an astronomical weekly fee, meaning the overall would package would easily resemble a transfer fee in itself. But they are reportedly set to have huge finances available to them, meaning they are also keeping tabs on Haaland.

The City striker, like Mbappe, has been closely linked with a move to Madrid recently. The Norwegian's stock has been on the rise ever since he joined the Blues from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2022.

Haaland has plundered a whopping 69 goals in 71 appearances for City, as well as 13 assists. He has 17 goals in just 18 games so far this season.
