There were sour grapes from Deontay Wilder after he heard of Tyson Fury’s narrow escape over Francis Ngannou - with the Texas-born boxer claiming Fury cheated against him in the famous trilogy.

After knocking Fury to the canvas in round three with a mean left hook, fans were left shocked by the events unfolding in Saudi Arabia with Ngannou making his boxing debut - but despite being rocked early on, the Gypsy King did get back on his feet and began to outbox Ngannou, winning by split decision on what was one of his more challenging nights in his career.

Wilder won’t let it slide, though. He miraculously drew with Fury after the Gypsy King survived what should’ve been a knockout blow in 2018 to have handed him the first loss on his record, and he still remains unbeaten to this day after winning the second and third fights of the trilogy.

And the American has suggested that Fury cheated in the fights that went against him - by putting weights in his gloves to land heavy blows ad ultimately gain the cutting edge.

Speaking about the original bout, Wilder didn't hold back in his criticism of Fury - though he admitted he didn't watch his fight vs Ngannou. He said: “I didn’t even get to watch the fight [Fury vs Ngannou]. I had a lot of people calling me about it, especially when he got dropped.

“After the fight a lot of people were figuring out what was going on - ‘Maybe he did cheat, maybe he did have something in his gloves.’ All these things are coming up now. Everybody's saying he lost.”

Since the fights against Fury, Wilder has only entered the ring once with a win over Finnihsh boxer Robert Helenius, and it appears as thought he may well have made his final bow.
