The arrival of the colder weather has brought back an unwelcome sight to many walls and windowsills - mould. It's a really unsightly problem that millions of households face, and in severe cases can be extremely harmful to health.

Serious mould problems are often linked to wider issues with properties, but in cases where the problem is not extensive, there are a number of products out there to help fight against the scourge of mould. What's more, the Black Friday sales have kicked off early and there are some useful discounts to be picked up at the minute.

Solutions can range massively in price, from sprays costing a few pounds to expensive dehumidifiers that address the root of the problem, but will set you back a lot. But with the cost of energy remaining extremely high, many homes will be limiting the amount of time the heating is on and be more susceptible to the problem.

We've picked out a few deals that are worth a look.

Window vac

Mould build-up is often linked to condensation which tends to form on cold surfaces like windows. If your windows are dripping with water each morning then a window vacuum could be a worthwhile investment.

The Beldray cordless window vac is on sale for £23.99 on Amazon, down from £29.99. It's rechargeable and can collect 60ml of water before the tank needs to be emptied.

The product is at the cheaper end of the spectrum but averages 4.1 stars out of five from 3,300 ratings and is well-suited if you're on a budget. Karcher is a well known-brand also holding a sale, reducing its window vac by 30% from £99.99 to £69.99.

If you have a bigger budget then Currys is selling a Meaco 8L model for £259.99. B&Q also has a 10L dehumidifier that's down to £95 from £135 for Black Friday, although it only has an average of 3.5 stars out of five.

Moisture absorber

If a dehumidifier is out of your price range then these Conopu hanging dehumidifier bags are worth a try. They're much cheaper and currently have 47% off for Black Friday on Amazon, making them £13.79 - you get 10 in a pack so that's just under £1.38 a bag.

They work by trapping moisture in the air and absorbing it into the packs. They come with hanging hooks on the bags, making it easy to put them in places like cupboards and wardrobes.
