A man has been left needing urgent surgery after being driven over by robbers carrying a knife. Officers were called out to Woodside Avenue in Burnage, south Manchester, at around 6pm yesterday (November 13).

Greater Manchester Police says the victim was reportedly threatened by a group of young males with a knife. The group robbed his car, a silver Toyota Corolla, before driving over him as he attempted to stop them fleeing the scene.

The victim sustained potentially life-changing injuries, GMP says. He has been left needing urgent surgery and remains in hospital this afternoon (Tuesday). Witnesses, or anyone with video footage from the area, are now being urged to come forward.
