Armistice Day takes place this weekend, providing a moment to reflect and remember those we have lost in service and show our support to serving and former members of the Armed Forces and their families. November 11, which is referred to as Remembrance Day, sees a two minute silence held across the country at the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month.

This year, Remembrance Sunday falls on November 12 and services to mark the occasion will take place across Greater Manchester. In the city centre, there will be a procession through the streets before a ceremony is held at the Cenotaph on St Peter's Square.

Communities in towns and villages across Greater Manchester will also fall silent to remember the fallen on Sunday. Here's our full list of the services taking place across the boroughs in 2023.
